I LOVE any type of Mexican food and I pretty much add taco seasoning to everything! Normal taco seasoning contains a ton of sodium and other things you probably don’t even know what they are! I like to know what is in my food so making my own taco seasoning is a great solution to this problem. Here is the recipe I made up that I think tastes best.

Taco Seasoning Recipe

Ingredients:

• 1/4 cup Chili Powder (I forgot to include this in the photo)
• 3 Tbsp. Ground Cumin
• 1 Tbsp. Garlic Powder
• 1 Tbsp. Onion Powder
• 1 Tbsp. Dried Crushed Chili Peppers
• 1 Tbsp. Dried Cilantro
• 1 Tbsp. Paprika
• 1 tsp. Mexican Oregano
• 1 tsp. Black Pepper

Directions:

Mix together and store in an air tight container. You can add as much as you want to any dish you are cooking based on your taste preference. I add it to taco meet and also make a fantastic taco dip by adding a few tablespoons to sour cream or plain greek yogurt!

I don’t have kids, but today I hit the jackpot on toys! My nieces and nephews, friends kids and local kids groups are going to benefit from this shopping trip. Couldn’t up such great deals on toys! I am also considering putting these games into baskets and auctioning them off at my local Relay For Life this summer!

So after some serious trial and error, I made the most adorable Easter wreath ever and it only cost a few dollars and has resulted in a ton of compliments when people see it hanging in my house!

Supplies

• Wreath Form (I got this wicker one from the Dollar Tree. It comes in multiple sizes; I bought a large and small size and ended up making two wreaths!)
• Mini Plastic Easter Eggs (I ended up purchasing mine at the Dollar Tree and needed four bags to finish a large wreath. Each bag contained 24 mini eggs and was $1 a bag.)
• 2 Spools of Wire Edged Ribbon (I bought one with an Easter Egg print and another in Blue. Each were $1 a roll at the Dollar Tree).
• Glue (At first, I tried to use E-6000 adhesive and it didn’t work out well at all. I knew I needed something low-temp to prevent the eggs from melting, so I ended up finding low temp glue sticks at the Dollar Tree and used an old glue gun I had laying around and it worked much better!)
• Wire (I bought this wire for $1 at the Dollar Tree and used it to create my own hanger on the back of the wreath!)
• Decorations (I bought 3 butterfly decorations for $1 at the Dollar Tree to add some flare to the wreath.)

Directions:

1. Take the wreath form and wrap it in ribbon. Secure the end with glue. You can use a solid color ribbon if you don’t want the wreath form to show through. Having the ribbon on the wreath made it much easier for the glue to stick to the eggs. I tried to do it without the ribbon and the surface was too uneven and the eggs fell off easily!

2. Begin to glue on the eggs. I had the most success putting the glue directly on the eggs and then placing them on the wreath form. Try to alternate the colors and fit the eggs together to get the most finished look.  This wreath was narrow so I did 3 rows of eggs around the entire wreath.

3. Your finished product will end up looking like this. I then went through and found any loose eggs and glued them to other eggs to secure them. Also, if any of the eggs were popping open I put a dab of glue in them to keep them closed (the E-6000 came in handy for this task!).

4. I weaved the wire through the eggs and created my hook by just twisting the wire as pictured above. You might want to do this first and glue the eggs around the hook as well. It’s all about personal preference here!

5. Here is my final products! The first one I made it pictured on the left. I made a handmade bow (watch this video if you aren’t sure how) and wired it on to the wreath! The second one I made is actually smaller and only used about 2 bags of eggs. I have since made several small ones as gifts and included the butterfly that I bought from the Dollar Tree on all of those because they are smaller. One of the people I gave the small wreath to is putting a glass candle holder in the middle and is using it as a table centerpiece at Easter!!

I really miss doing this… but that isn’t really evident from how much I have posted on here. I started this blog a long time ago and then decided it would be a good idea to go to law school. So, now I am a law student. It’s super hard and it has cut down on my free time drastically including my blogging time, however… I want to come back. I still live frugally and I want to share that with you all. So, I am going to do my best to make at least one post on here daily. However, I am going to be shifting from posting entirely deals and put more articles out about frugal living, the deals I find and crafting/cooking.  I really want to re-vamp this so it is different from the other blogs I already love to read… hopefully you will come back and read this and enjoy all the changes I am making!
